Grupo Mexico SA de CV posted earnings of $342.1 million in the fourth quarter in contrast to a $173.2-million loss in the same period a year earlier on sales that more than doubled to $1.49 billion from $741.5 million.

The Mexico City-based miner attributed the higher sales to increases in production in its mining division and improved metal prices.
