GM logs $1.2B loss in 3d qtr., sees growth prospects in ’10

General Motors Co. is expecting modest growth next year after ending the third quarter in the red.

Detroit-based GM posted a managerial net loss of $1.2 billion for the three months ended Sept. 30, although it couldn't provide a direct comparison with the performance of its pre-bankruptcy predecessor during the same 2008 period.
