China's crude steel output rose 42 percent year on year in October to 51.7 million tonnes, staying above 50 million tonnes for the fourth month in a row, the country's National Statistics Bureau said.
Output rose 2 percent month on month, though daily output slipped slightly to 1.67 million tonnes in the month, after holding at 1.69 million tonnes for the previous two months, as a result of national day holidays at the start of the month.
