Chinese finished steel exports jump 19% in September to 2009 high

China's finished steel exports in September increased to their highest level so far this year, and Chinese traders are predicting further increases in October.

Steel exports of 2.47 million tonnes in September were up 19 percent from August, according to preliminary figures from China's Customs Bureau, marking the second month this year exports have topped 2 million tonnes. Despite the increase, exports still trailed the year-ago level by 63 percent.
