Besides purchasing Scrap for this location he also purchases all the spot scrap for the Coatesville Plant of ArcelorMittal as well as the in-plant services, alloys, refractory, molds and rolls. The Steelton plant is a DC electric furnace shop that produces rail, blooms, rolled bars, ingots and large flat sections for the railroads, forgers, oil field manufacturers and heavy equipment manufacturers.

Toby Powell
Purchasing Agent, Steel Dynamics, Inc.

Toby Powell has over 10 years of experience in the steel industry and for the last 6 years has been the Purchasing Agent at the Engineered Bar Products Division for Steel Dynamics Inc (SDI). The Engineered Bar Products Division is located in Pittsboro, Indiana and is a leader in the SBQ market. Toby is responsible for buying all raw materials for the mill including alloys, carbon, lime, scrap and natural gas. Some of the alloys purchased on either a spot, monthly, or long term contract include molybdenum, titanium, chrome, nickel, vanadium, columbian, manganese and silicon. He also is a member of the corporate scrap buying group for SDI with primary responsibility for purchasing scrap for Pittsboro. Toby has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Western Illinois University.

Raju Daswani
Managing Director, Metal Bulletin & American Metal Market

After graduating with a degree in economics and finance from the London School of Economics in 1991, Raju Daswani began his career in metals by taking up a market analyst position at Alcan's European operations in the UK. He joined the Metal Bulletin Group in 1995 and was initially in charge of all its research and analysis on the

aluminum markets. During 1998 to 2002 Raju was stationed in New York - during which time Metal Bulletin acquired AMM. Raju moved back to London in 2002 and went on to head the Company's steel and base metals'

research operation, MBR. More recently Raju has been appointed Global Publisher for the Group's Metals, Mining & Minerals Division, which incorporates the world's two leading metal publications - AMM and Metal Bulletin. Raju is responsible for over 130 staff in several offices located in the USA, Europe, and Asia.

Ladd Hall
Executive Vice President, Nucor Corporation

Mr. Hall graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Marketing and a minor in Japanese. He has been with the Nucor Corporation for the past 24 years. Mr. Hall started his career in 1981 at the Plymouth, Utah steel division where he worked in the sales department until 1988. He then became a department manager over the Cold Finish division in Brigham City, Utah where he worked for the next five years. In 1993, he became a Vice President/General Manager over the Vulcraft Division located in Grapeland, Texas. He went on to become the Vice President/General Manager over the Brigham City, Utah Vulcraft, Cold Finish, & Grinding Ball Divisions. He ran the Brigham City Divisions until August of 1998 when he became the General Manager over the Darlington steel mill in Darlington SC. In January of 2000, he became Vice President/General Manager at the Berkeley Division. On September 30, 2007 he was appointed to his current position of Executive Vice President.

John Scheessele
Principal, TC Graham Associates

John Scheessele is one of the founding members of TC Graham Associates, LLC. With its principal offices in Pittsburgh, Associates consults and provides technical assistance to a number of clients in the domestic steel industry.

Mr. Scheessele graduated with honors from Indiana University’s Business School with a BS in Business Management in 1973. He served in the United States Air Force from February 1967 until February 1971 where he was trained as a Russian linguist.

In 1973, Mr. Scheessele began his career with General Electric Co. in its Financial Management Program where he worked in Military Electronics, Plastics, Semiconductors and the corporate offices.

In 1984, Mr. Scheessele moved to Uniroyal as a financial analyst in the corporate offices. As a result of a hostile tender offer, Uniroyal completed an LBO under the sponsorship of Clayton, Dubilier and Rice. Uniroyal was sold piecemeal and Mr. Scheessele joined its joint venture tire company’s corporate finance department in Akron Ohio.

In 1988, Mr. Scheessele joined WCI Steel as its Vice President and CFO. Mr. Scheessele led the financing efforts for the company’s $ 150 million capital improvements program. After the successful start up of the Caster the company entered the “High Yield” and public equities markets to improve its financial structure. In 1994, Mr. Scheessele was made President and CEO of WCI Steel. He resigned at the end of 1995.

In 1996, Mr. Scheessele joined SKD Group as President, an operating business of National Materials Companies, LLC. During his tenure he consolidated the production capabilities closing inefficient facilities. The company expanded its relationship with Chrysler by securing production contracts on three new Chrysler platforms.

In 1997, Mr. Scheessele joined Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel (WPSC) as President and CEO of the steel company and a director of its parent’s, WHX, board. When he joined WPSC, the company’s facilities had been idled by a strike. After profitably restarting operations the steel company and its parent where refinanced in the “high yield” market.

In 1998, Mr. Scheessele became President of Acutus Gladwin and worked to improve the operating performance of the company. In late 1999, Mr. Scheessele began a consulting company and in 2001 joined Mr. Graham to form TC Graham Associates, LLC.

Mr. Scheessele has served on a number of public boards including WCI Steel, WHX, WesBanco and Coinmach, where he served as the chairman of the audit committee. He has served on private company boards including Wheeling Nisshin, Ohio Coatings, and Shenango. Currently Mr. Scheessele serves on the board of Blaze Metals, LLC, a private company, as a director and member of the compensation committee.

Mark Barrus

Mark Barrus is the global leader of the Metals segment for KPMG. He is a partner with KPMG in the US.

Mr. Barrus has over 25 years experience in the metals industry. He has served integrated steelmakers, Aluminum manufacturers, processors, downstream distributors, and distribution centers. He was formerly a partner at another international accounting firm before joining KPMG as a partner in 2002.

From a functional standpoint, Mark advises clients on the tax aspects of domestic and international operations, including mergers and acquisitions, supply chains, international operations, and tax planning.

Mark earned a bachelor of science, with honors, and a master in accounting, from Case Western Reserve University. He is a member of the American Iron and Steel Institute, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of CPA’s, and The Club at Society Center.

In addition to his firm and professional activities, Mark currently serves on the Boards of HELP Foundation and The Case Western Reserve Accountancy Department.

Daniel Ostergaard
Director, Institute for the Economy and the Future, Western Carolina University

Mr. Daniel Ostergaard currently serves as an Associate Professor of Global Management and Strategy and as an Adjunct Professor of Applied Criminology teaching both international business and homeland security-related courses at Western Carolina University (WCU). Additionally, he was appointed from November 2007 to June 2009 to serve as the Director for Western Carolina University’s Institute for the Economy and the Future – a regional economic development think tank dedicated to both public and private sector policy development. Prior to joining the faculty of WCU, Mr. Ostergaard held a variety of senior homeland security positions in Washington, D.C.

After sixteen years of public service associated with various aspects of homeland security, Mr. Ostergaard founded Pelorus Enterprises, LLC, in January 2006. Pelorus Enterprises provides business development and governmental relations services for public and private, domestic and international clients. With an emphasis on sustainable economic development, Pelorus works with U.S. companies who want to grow their market share either domestically or abroad. In essence, Pelorus is in the business of “in-sourcing.”

Mr. Ostergaard was appointed as the Executive Director of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) in July 2004. His duties included strategic management of the Homeland Security Advisory Council as well as serving as a senior advisor to both Honorable Secretaries of Homeland Security: Tom Ridge and Michael Chertoff. The HSAC provided strategic policy advice and recommendations directly to the Secretary on a wide range of issues related to homeland security.

He has previously served as the Homeland Security and Criminal Justice Liaison in Washington, D.C., for the Executive Office of Governor Jeb Bush and Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Focusing on a host of issues relating to the role of state, local and tribal governments, Mr. Ostergaard worked closely with both the public and private sectors to create partnerships and share best practices. Prior to his service with the State of Florida, Mr. Ostergaard served on active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard for eleven years. A seagoing officer, Mr. Ostergaard served aboard several cutters in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans including command of a patrol boat and a shore-based rescue station. He led numerous homeland security, search and rescue, counter narcotics, and environmental protection operations. He served as the Federal and State Liaison for the Coast Guard’s Office of Governmental and Public Affairs and was the Budget and Fiscal Manager for the Atlantic Major Cutter Fleet. Mr. Ostergaard graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a Bachelors of Science in Government. He holds two Masters Degrees: a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government (where he was also the student body President) and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. He served as a Fellow at the Homeland Security Policy Institute at George Washington University and was recently elected to serve on the Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Board of Directors. He is also a policy fellow at Artis Research and Risk Modeling. He was elected in November 2006 to a non-partisan municipal office serving as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Washington, D.C. His single member district was in the Capitol Hill neighborhood where he emphasized economic development and served as a Community Facilitator for the Washington Metro Police Department’s Police Service Area 106. Mr. Ostergaard hails from the mountains of North Carolina where he and his wife, Sarah, and three children are raising a variety of heritage livestock breeds on a family farm nestled between the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains in northern Buncombe County. They are committed to sustainable organic farming, job growth in the region and to preserving the region’s unique mountain heritage.

Jacob Garrett
Director of Scrap and Secondary Sales, Worthington Industries, Inc.

Jacob Garrett joined Worthington Industries in May 2008 as the manager of scrap planning.

Garrett leads the company’s scrap management program. His responsibilities include overseeing the in-house management of scrap, contract management, process improvement, market trend analysis and forecasting.

Garrett has been a part of the scrap industry since childhood. His grandfather founded Joyce Iron & Metal Co. in 1941 and for over 20 years Garrett worked his way up through the organization working in every capacity of the scrap business. In 2001, he served as vice president of Joyce Iron & Metal Co. responsible for all buying and selling of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap. The company was later acquired by PSC Metals and Garrett continued in his position until 2008.

Garrett received a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. He resides in Bexley, Ohio, with his wife Elizabeth and their daughter.

Worthington Industries is the country's leading intermediate steel processor and a leading manufacturer of metals related products, with annualized sales of approximately $2.6 billion. Worthington employs over 6,400 people and operates 61 facilities in 10 countries.

Andy Barker
Vice President, General Manager, CMA Recycling

Andy joined CMA in August 2008. He manages the company’s U.S. scrap recycling operation in East Chicago, Indiana including its niche de-zincing business.

Prior to joining CMA, Andy served as Managing Director of British Meretec Limited, where he helped develop the value chain for removing the coating from engineered galvanized scrap and marketing the resultant black scrap substitute to the foundry industry. CMA acquired the U.S. business assets and technology from Meretec in 2008.

Andy has served in a variety of international management positions with companies in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He has a Bachelors of Science degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and speaks French and Spanish. Andy currently resides in Chicago.

Lisa Gordon
Steel Reporter, American Metal Market

Lisa Gordon is a recent edition to the steel team at AMM. She has arrived from a competing trade journal where she wrote over 1,700 articles in two years. In her short tenure she has gained an understanding of the North American market. Her primary focus is on the ferrous scrap market as she considers it to be the pulse of the industry as it directly impacts steel prices. But Lisa keeps an eye on all sectors of steelmaking to maintain a macro view of the market. She previously worked at Pittsburgh's daily paper where she won numerous awards for her work. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

David J. Hodory
Director, Marketing & Communications, The David J. Joseph Company

Mr. Hodory serves as Director of Marketing and Communications for The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ). DJJ, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor is based in Cincinnati, Ohio employs over 1,700 people at its various operations, reported 2006 sales over $6 billion, and is the leading broker of ferrous scrap in the U.S.

Mr. Hodory joined DJJ in the winter of 2005, and is a native of Cincinnati. Mr. Hodory oversees marketing, planning, information technology integration, and market analysis for Brokerage and Services. Mr. Hodory came to DJJ from Honeywell International, Inc. where he served 7+ years in the aerospace industry, most recently performing market analysis and overseeing new service offerings. Prior to that, Mr. Hodory worked over 8 years in the financial services industry.

Alan Price

Alan H. Price has twenty-five years of experience representing a variety of clients on international trade matters. He specializes in representing domestic industries in complex international trade matters that combine legal, government relations, and public relations components. Mr. Price has represented steel producers throughout his career. For the last fifteen years, he has represented primarily domestic producers using scrap in electric arc furnaces. He is President of the American Scrap Coalition. Mr. Price has filed trade cases covering virtually every type of steel product, as well as cases against imports of photographic paper, newspaper printing presses, hand tools, steel grating and fasteners. He is an authority on, among other issues, export restrictions on raw materials and Chinese subsidies to the steel industry. Greg Quinton
Vice President Ferrous Marketing, CMC Steel Group

Mr. Quinton serves as the VP of ferrous marketing for Commercial Metals Co. Americas Recycling Division which generated in FY 2008, $2 billion in sales revenue from approximately 50 scrap procession locations across primarily the sunbelt region of the U.S. and employees approximately 2000 employees.

Mr. Quinton joined CMC in 1989 as an account representative/metals buyer. Today, he oversees ferrous marketing for both domestic and international customers through a staff of traders and international CMC agents. He has a bachelors of science degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and currently resides in the Dallas, Tx area with his wife and son.

Bryan Berry
Correspondent, Scrap Price Bulletin

Bryan Berry reports scrap-metal prices for Chicago, Cincinnati, St. Louis, and Houston for the Scrap Price Bulletin; he also reports pig-iron and hot-briquetted-iron prices. Mr. Berry served as Detroit Editor and Contributing Editor for Iron Age Magazine (1981-1993) before becoming Chief Editor of the magazine in 1993-2001. Bryan has a B.A. in English from Columbia University (1974) as well as a PhD in English Literature from the University of Michigan (1992). He taught literature, writing, and journalism at several universities before becoming a full-time freelance writer in 2008. Bryan’s editorial awards include the Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award from American Business Media. Mr. Berry is based in Joliet, Illinois.

Chris Barrington

CHRIS BARRINGTON has almost 40 years experience in the international natural resources field, including 17 years in the global iron ore industry. He purchased iron ore for British Steel Corp and marketed Brazilian and Australian iron ore for Utah International and Swedish iron ore for LKAB. He was Managing Director of Fergusson Wild & Co. Ltd., a processor, distributor and trader of minerals and industrial raw materials subsequent to which he established his own minerals distribution business (sold in 2007 to the Prince Minerals group). Since then has completed a variety of consulting assignments in the iron ore and ferrous metallics fields and his company provides management and administrative services to the International Pig Iron Association and its association REACH consortium, the Iron Platform.

John Kopfle
Director Corporate Development, Midrex

Mr. Kopfle serves as Director – Corporate Development for Midrex Technologies, Inc. Midrex is based in Charlotte, NC, and is the leading process technology supplier for the production of direct reduced iron. MIDREX® Plants produced nearly 60 percent of the world’s DRI in 2008. Mr. Kopfle oversees corporate planning, marketing, and non-traditional business development. During his 26 years at Midrex, Mr. Kopfle has also worked in research and development, process engineering, and sales. He earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Virginia Tech, an M.B.A. at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and is a registered Professional Engineer. Mr. Kopfle has authored over 90 technical papers and contributed to three books, including “Direct Reduced Iron: Technology and Economics of Production and Use.” He is a member of the Association of Iron and Steel Technology and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Frank Griscom
Executive Director, Hot Briquetted Iron Association

Mr. Griscom is the Executive Director and Chief Administrative Officer of HBI Association Ltd., a not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to promote hot briquetted iron (HBI) and to assist steelmakers in the safe handling, shipping, and storage of HBI and its effective use.

HBIA has its administrative office in Matthews, NC (Charlotte area), and includes in its membership all of the major exporters of HBI. In addition, the leading companies providing process technology, equipment, raw materials, and services for the production, sales, and transportation of HBI are HBIA members.

Mr. Griscom has more than 30 years of experience in industrial marketing and marketing communications. He is the author or co-author of more than 50 papers and presentations and a similar number of editorials, feature articles, position statements, and speeches on various direct reduction-related subjects. He served as editor-in-chief of Direct From Midrex for 10 years.

Mr. Griscom earned a B.A. degree from the University of Chattanooga (now UT-Chattanooga) and is a member of the Association of Iron and Steel Technology.

Rob Bakotich
Vice President Sales & Marketing, Ferrous Processing & Trading

Began his career in the scrap business with Luria Brothers in 1984 as a broker in Detroit MI. From that position he has server as a trader with Alter Trading, General Manager at Summit Metals in Lansing and General Manager at K Scrap Resources in Windsor Ontario Canada.

As Vice President Sales and Marketing, Mr. Bakotich is responsible for all ferrous sales for Ferrous Processing & Trading Company, including sales for processing facilities in Michigan and Florida. He maintains relationships with both steel mill and foundry customers and coordinates shipments from FPT facilities and various suppliers. He and his team forecast, sell and coordinate the commercial activities of various processing centers for FPT.

Mr. Bakotich, a graduate of Michigan State University, is married with three children and resides in the metro Detroit area.

Nathan Frankel
President, Advanced Steel Recovery

Nathan Frankel is a Graduate from Brandeis University with a major in Economics and concentration in Performance as a classically trained violinist.

Nathan founded Advanced Steel Recovery in 1999 to collect and distribute scrap steel to steel mills both domestically and abroad. In 2004 Nathan invented and patented "Fastek", the world's only patented device used to automate the loading of bulk commodities, such as scrap metal, into overseas containers in minutes, eliminating 100% of the damages associated with containerizing such bulk commodities.

To date, Nathan has implemented his technology in scrap steel sector, installing Fastek in scrap yards throughout North America, achieving stature as one the world's largest shipper of containerized steel scrap and one of the top 100 exporters of any product in North America.

Patrick McCormick
President, World Steel Exchange Marketing

Patrick A. McCormick, a commercial veteran of global steel buying has recently joined World Steel Dynamics. Pat has previously held various engineering and procurement management positions during his 30-year career at Emerson. His specializations are global strategy development, supplier relationship management, and industry analysis. Pat is a member of the Institute of Supply Chain Management and holds a MBA from Washington University.

Vince Pappalardo
Managing Director, Dresner Partners, Investment Banking

Mr. Pappalardo is a Managing Director at Dresner Partners, and heads the firm’s metals practice. In that capacity, he focuses on the production and distribution of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys, as well as on diversified industrial sectors. Mr. Pappalardo has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions on both the buyside and sellside in domestic as well as international transactions. Additionally, he has advised clients in the private placement of debt and equity, enterprise valuations, solvency and fairness opinions and financial restructuring transactions.

Mr. Pappalardo has spoken as a metals industry expert for American Metals Market (AMM), Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), and the Metal Service Center Institute (MSCI) and the Turnaround Management Association (TMA).

Prior to joining Dresner Partners, Mr. Pappalardo led projects in Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin‘s Basic Industrial Group, focusing on the metals and industrials sectors and advising public and private clients on transactions ranging in size from $50 million to $500 million. During his 11-year tenure, he worked primarily in mergers and acquisitions, as well as other practice areas including ESOP valuations, financial opinions, and restructuring.

Previously, Mr. Pappalardo held the position of a Second Vice President in the corporate finance division for NBD Bank, where he assisted middle-market companies with business planning, derivatives and bond issuances.

Mike Marley

Michael Marley is American Metal Market’s chief scrap correspondent based in the Philadelphia area. Marley, who heads AMM’s global coverage of ferrous and nonferrous scrap, joined AMM in 1990 after previously serving as editor at Iron Age.

William Brake
Executive Vice President, Cliff Natural Resources Inc.

William Brake joined Cliffs Natural Resources in April 2007 as Executive Vice President, Cliffs Metallics and Chief Technical Officer. He was appointed Chairman of Renewafuel LLC in June 2008. Cliffs has a 90% interest in Renewafuel, a producer of biomass fuel cubes for industrial markets. In November 2008, he assumed additional responsibility for Human Resources and Labor Relations. Prior to Cliffs, Mr. Brake was Executive Vice President - Operations at Mittal Steel USA with full operating responsibility for all of Mittal’s domestic steel operations. He began his career with LTV Steel, becoming LTV’s Vice President and General Manager. Following LTV’s acquisition by International Steel Group, he was responsible for the initial re-start of the Cleveland, Ohio, facilities.

Mr. Brake is a member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, was the former co-chair of the Ohio Steel Industry Advisory Council, and is a member of several boards within the Cleveland area. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and an MBA, both from Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Joseph Poveromo
Principal, Raw Materials & Ironmaking Global Consulting

Joseph J. Poveromo received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering in 1974 at the Center for Process Metallurgy, State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNYAB). Earlier he had received a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Poly.

He then joined Bethlehem Steel’s Homer Research Laboratories where he advanced to the position of Research Consultant. In 1993 he established his consultancy, Raw Materials & Ironmaking. From 1993 through 2008 his principal client was the Quebec Cartier Mining Company (now ArcelorMittal Mines Canada) for whom he served as Director - Technology, International. He consults for a number of steel, natural resource, technology provider and consultancy companies on a global basis.

Dr. Poveromo is a Distinguished Member of the Iron and Steel Society (now AIST) of AIME. He has received a number of Iron & Steel Society Awards including the T. L. Joseph Award in 1998 for his long-standing contributions to ironmaking technology.

Jo Isenberg-O'Loughlin

Jo Isenberg-O'Loughlin is a career-long trade journalist, editor and writer, who has spent more than three decades covering the steel, nonferrous metals and other process industries. In her current position as editor, Jo oversees the daily operation of American Metal Market, a division of Metal Bulletin plc and recognized "bible" of the North American steel, nonferrous and scrap industries.

Prior to joining AMM in March 2000, Jo held a variety of positions with major U.S. publishers including McGraw-Hill and Penton Media Inc. and has worked in a freelance capacity with organizations ranging from the American Management Association and the National Association of Manufacturers to the Japan Steel Information Center. Kimberly H. Leppold
Senior Metals Analyst, Metal Bulletin Research

Kimberly H. Leppold is a Senior Metals Analyst for Metal Bulletin Research, part of the Metal Bulletin group of companies. She is principally responsible for analysis of the North American steel markets, the global tube and pipe markets, as well as the global steelmaking raw materials markets. Kim joined MBR in the fall of 2005, following a six-year stint as an Economist for Global Insight (formerly Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates). While with Global Insight, she was responsible for overseeing the analysis and forecasting of the economies of the Southwest central United States and consulted on projects concerning economic development issues in regions of Arkansas and West Virginia.

Ms. Leppold joined Global Insight from London, UK-based Commodities Research Unit International (CRU), where she served as a consultant for the steel and energy industries, providing commodity market analysis. Ms. Leppold holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and a Master of Science in Mineral Economics from the Pennsylvania State University.

Jack Porco
President & Chief Commercial Officer, Xcoal Energy & Resources

Jack Porco has served as President and Chief Commercial Officer of Xcoal Energy & Resources since September of 2009 and prior to that Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Alpha Natural Resources and President of Alpha Coal Sales Co., LLC from September 2006. Jack began his career in the coal industry with Consol Energy in 1974, holding a number of financial and marketing positions before joining AMCI in 1996. Jack received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Robert Morris University and a Masters in International Business from Point Park College.

David Jardini
President, C/G Electrodes LLC

David Jardini is President of C/G Electrodes LLC, a leading producer of ultra-high power electrodes to the global steel industry. C/G Electrodes was formed in May 2003 to acquire and restart the St. Marys, PA, graphite electrodes production operations of Carbide/Graphite Group Inc. Carbide/Graphite Group was bankrupt and in asset liquidation when C/G Electrodes purchased the idled St. Marys assets.

During its first year of operations, C/G Electrodes team members restarted the idled operations, relocated a finishing and shipping facility from Niagara Falls, NY, to St. Marys, and established a world-wide reputation as a premium-quality electrodes supplier. C/G Electrodes has annual sales $150 million, employs 150 team members, sells its product throughout North America, and exports to more than a dozen countries in Europe and Asia. As President, David is the company’s senior manager in St. Marys and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the business.

In 2003, C/G Electrodes was named Manufacturer of the Year by the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission. In 2005, the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce named the company Business of the year. Most recently, David was named the 2006 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Western Pennsylvania and Upstate New York Region.

Prior to joining C/G Electrodes, David was a Practice Director of Hatch Consulting, and Practice Manager of the Hatch Beddows Global Strategy Practice. During 2002, David was also responsible for managing the Hatch Consulting European business from London. Since joining Hatch in 1998, David managed a wide variety of complex consulting engagements in the metals industry including global strategy development, viability analysis and business diagnosis, commercial strategy development, new market/product planning, e-business strategy development, and organizational change. David has published widely on metals industry strategy and issues, and is a regular speaker at industry conferences.

David has been involved with the metals industry for over fifteen years, having worked in banking and investment analysis prior to joining Hatch. He has published on the history of technology in the steel industry and is the author of Thinking Through the Cold War, a monograph history of Cold War research and development. Prior to joining Hatch, David was Vice President, Metals Section, for Mellon Bank, and metals and machinery analyst for Neuberger & Berman, a New York-based investment firm with over $50 billion in assets under management. He holds a doctorate in the history of science and technology from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College.
