Chile’s copper output flat as BHP rise offsets Codelco fall

SÃO PAULO Chiles copper production in April was virtually flat compared with the same month last year as larger volumes from BHP Billiton Plcs Escondida Mine offset lower production at state-owned Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco).
Production at London-based BHPs Escondida Mine totaled 96,500 tonnes in April, up 8.7 percent from a year earlier, while Codelcos output fell by a similar percentage to 118,400 tonnes. ....
