Domestic steel sheet prices rise

TORONTO Steel sheet prices edged up this past week as a result of recent hikes by domestic mills, though it is unclear how long the upward movement will hold.
Mills and buyer sources contacted by AMM confirmed that quotes and transaction prices have been pushed up, which some attributed to planned summer outages, upcoming and ongoing labor disputes, and inventory replenishment by service centers.
"The mills arent wanting to back off of the high numbers," one Midwest service center source said.....
