NLMK sees pickup in 1st qtr. flat-rolled sales

NEW YORK NLMK USA saw a pickup in flat-rolled steel sales in the first three months of the year on the back of improvements in key consuming sectors such as automotive, construction and pipe and tube, the company said April 18.
The Portage, Ind.-based steelmaker, part of Russias Novolipetsk Steel, reported total flat-rolled sales of 472,000 tonnes, a 15.8-percent increase from the fourth quarter and up 9 percent from the first three months of last year.....
